A brief hello

I don’t have much of an update to share this month but wanted to pop in to say hi regardless. While I was primarily away from my creative routine, June was filled with much needed travel to celebrate and see some of my dearest friends. I feel so grateful for the strong hold history has over these long-term friendships.

During my time away, I also felt affirmed that I’m right where I need to be. Particularly being back in DC, I of course missed my life there; biking freely through the city, exploring happy hours, sharing the energy, charisma, and ambition that pulses off the heat of the streets, and… Never. Driving. Once. But I noticed that I walk much slower now, indicative that these last six months taught me I have nowhere in particular I need to be. I am working so hard to not force myself to figure out the next step, to just be and allow myself to grieve that former life so that I can come closer to uncovering the next. I miss DC and all the people within it with my whole heart, and while life here is far from perfect, I think I have found the stillness I was seeking.

Looking ahead at the remainder of summer, I have a lot to create at the ceramics studio. I’ll be making my Minneapolis debut selling my work at a small market next weekend and a larger one in September. While my pace feels incredibly slow, I am still moving forward!
